Black Magic

Today was great! I had my first full day of classes- I am taking Contemporary Art 1945-Present and International Marketing. They were long classes but our USAC advisors planned a bus tour of the city for us after class! We went to some amazing sights! They took us to a couple of structures that were specifically made for events- like the 2006 Winter Olympic Games!!

Our next stop on the tour was the Monumento Piazza Statuto. The top of the monument is said to be the devil falling into hell and the white figures are fallen angels. On our tour we were told that the city of Torino is separated into two parts: one part is white magic (the good side) and the other part is black magic side. The Monumento Piazza Statuto/ downtown area is located on the black magic side! EEK.

Next we drove into the hills and went to the Basiccilica Di Superga. It is by far the prettiest structure I have seen on this trip! The Basiccilica is a giant church on the very top of the hills of Torino and you can see the whole city from there. I am feeling so blessed and lucky that I get to experience the beauty of Italy everyday. Ciao!

  1. Riley you look like you are having a blast!!! I love reading blogs from friends who go abroad, since I did the same thing haha. Let this be your journal to family members and write as much as you can, even now I love reading back on what I did 🙂

    • Thank you for the great advise! I have been trying to write down everything I have done so I can look back on my experience and remember Italy when I leave 🙂 ❤️
